Every day, we get opportunities to make a positive impact – on our colleagues, partners, customers and society. Together, we’re pioneering the solutions of the future and unlocking the full potential of precious resources. Trusted to act on initiative, we challenge conventional thinking to develop world-leading technologies that inspire progress in vital areas, including energy, food, water and shipping.

As we push forward, the innovative, open spirit that fuels our 140-year-old start-up culture and rapid growth also drives our personal growth. So, as we shape a more resourceful, less wasteful world, we build our careers too.

Who you are:

You are a self-motivated team player with the ability to easily network in an international and cross-cultural environment, working in line with Alfa Laval drivers, Action, Interaction, and Satisfaction. You are driven and see solutions rather than problems, effectively prioritizing and executing tasks. A focus on continuous improvement is on your DNA.

About the internship:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to various aspects of business operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in business processes and a desire to develop skills in a real-world setting.

As part of the team, you will:

  • Analyze, specify, design, document, implement improvements for Inventory Management.

  • Value Stream Management (VSM).

  • Conduct training of users of the process or standard.

  • Follow-up the implementation to ensure "fit for purpose" and validate that business objectives were met.

  • Lead Proof of Concepts for new processes or standards.

We care about diversity, inclusion and equity in our recruitment processes. We also believe behavioral traits can provide important insights into a candidate's fit to a role. To help us achieve this we apply Pymetrics assessments, and upon application you will be invited to play the assessment games.

What you know:

This role requires a student pursuing a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Other relevant degrees will also be considered.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (including Word, Excel, Visio & PowerPoint).

  • Ability to work up to 40 hours per week (flexible with class schedule).

  • Strong team collaboration and interpersonal communication skills required, to include verbal and written skills.

  • Candidate must be adept at taking direction, work well within cross-functional teams, be curious to learn, and be customer focused.  Safe work practices, proper ethics, and attention to detail are required.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment.

At Alfa Laval, we carefully consider a wide range of factors to determine your total compensation package. We rely on market indicators and consider your specific job, background, skills, and experience to get it right.  The hourly rate for this role is typically $17 - $25.

At Alfa Laval, we pride ourselves on creating an inclusive and dynamic workplace that values diverse perspectives and experiences. While we typically welcome applicants from all locations, for this particular role, we are prioritizing candidates who are currently residing in USA or have an established presence in the area.

Alfa Laval is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse workforce. All employment is decided on the basis of qualifications, merit, or business need, without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
